Exceptional Care & Comfort for Cats & Dogs

MEET OUR TEAM

Dr. Tracy Kusik

DVM

Many of my happy memories are centered around animals–I can remember sitting in the back seat of our Oldsmobile wagon, with our first family dog, a black Lab we named Lady. My passion for animals was cemented at age 6 when I informed my parents, “I am going to be a veterinarian when I grow up.” And, that was it! I never considered any other profession. After 2 years of undergraduate work, I received early acceptance to join the Class of ‘94 at UW-Madison, School of Veterinary Medicine.

I love to see the bond between each pet and their family. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than helping a pet in need, and seeing them recover, happy and in good health.

I love to teach, and I consider each client and their pet as the individuals they are. What do *you* want to see for *your”* cat or dog? My wonderful staff and I only see your pet a few times a year, so we want to be sure the other 360+ days are optimal based on our recommendations and discussions with you.

I’ve been in the profession for over 30 years, starting as a kennel assistant in high school, quickly working up to office manager at that busy Milwaukee practice. After graduation in 1994, I worked in private practice for 2 years before starting my first practice in Wrightstown, Wisconsin. Trout Creek is the third veterinary practice I’ve started and owned, and I have extensive background also in urgent care and emergency work. I especially love surgery, including ACL (knee) surgeries. As my surgery-minded colleagues and I say, “A chance to cut is a chance to cure.” One of my favorite surgery stories involved a pregnant chinchilla who fell off a perch and broke her arm. My team managed her anesthesia, and I was able to fix it using a small pin, fashioned from a needle, which I inserted into the broken bone, allowing it to heal. She made a full recovery, and had 2 healthy babies.

On the opposite end of the medical spectrum, I truly believe in the power of preventive medicine–food is the greatest “drug” we have, and keeping your dog and cat a good weight greatly adds to the quality of their years, and often, to a longer life. That, along with catching problems early by checking bloodwork at their annual visit, allows us to best help your pet!

Outside of the clinic, I greatly enjoy my early morning workouts at Bode Bootcamp in Howard, kayaking, paddleboarding, home remodeling, learning the guitar, and Guns N’ Roses. I have one daughter and we spent many fun years traveling to gymnastics meets and soccer tournaments. We enjoyed a semester in New Zealand when she was in middle school. As a young adult she now lives in Austin, Texas and is living her best life!

I have two cats, Patton and Trent. Patton is an opinionated “silent partner” in the practice. He enjoys dreaming of the “catio” I plan to build him, perhaps kayaking with me, and he loves rubber bands. (Which I take away—how do cats manage to find these in drawers, anyway?) Trent came into my life while I was doing some relief work for our local humane society. He had fractured both upper canine teeth and had a kidney infection. I offered to perform his dental surgery and the rest is history!

I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Atlana Swanson

Certified Veterinary Technician

I have been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 2016 and at Trout Creek since 2017. and my love for this profession grows as I continue to learn every day. My biggest passions in the field are the nursing of sick and injured animals as well as working with stressed, aggressive, and scared dogs to improve their veterinary experience. At home, my husband, Logan and I have two daughters — Harper and Wrenley. We also have 3 dogs — Cash, Carter and Boone. We are all truly homebodies but love spending our time outside. We try to get out as much as possible to share our love of the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening with our girls.

We are so lucky to have such amazing clients! Thank you for allowing us to care for your pets! You all make our jobs so rewarding.

Breanna Santy

Certified Veterinary Technician

My professional veterinary career began in 2008 when I started my education to become a Certified Veterinary Technician (nurse) at Madison Area Technical College. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work as a licensed CVT in a variety of clinic settings across the state of Wisconsin and in Minnesota. The heart of my work lies in canine and feline anesthesia, staff mentorship, and practice management. Working at Trout Creek Veterinary Center as the Lead Nurse and Office Manager is truly my dream job! I thoroughly enjoy my dual roles and the amount of variety and challenges they bring. Seeing our staff members thrive in their positions and gain knowledge in veterinary medicine is incredibly fulfilling. My family includes my amazing husband Kaleb, son Gabriel, and our crew of dogs. I am a huge football fan, coffee connoisseur, and enjoy raising my Whippets and competing in conformation dog shows.

Kelly Jo Van Dreel

Certified Veterinary Technician

Hi, I’m Kelly Jo! I earned my degree in Veterinary Technology and became a Certified Veterinary Technician in 2015. Prior to graduation I took a leap of faith and applied to a 24/7 Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Hospital, where I learned and experienced more than I could ever anticipate. I had the tough but very rewarding job of being the hospital’s Technical Trainer and have since continued learning, improving, and teaching my skills and knowledge base. In spring of 2022 I joined Dr. Tracy Kusik and the Trout Creek Veterinary team. I’m also currently working at Lakeland Veterinary Imaging with Dr. Brianne Miller, traveling to clinics around the area performing ultrasounds and echocardiograms.

I currently live in Green Bay with my husband Jeremy, dog (June), and two cats (Axl Rose and Elvira). Along with my adventurous and fun family, I am an avid Packers fan, love ice fishing and winter activities, and many summer activities including camping, tubing, and paddle boarding. My happiest and favorite time spent is with my family and friends.

Rachael Raddatz

Patient Care Coordinator

Hi, I am Rachael Raddatz!

I have been involved in the animal industry since 2004 when I graduated from UW-River Falls with an Animal Science degree. I have spent over 15 years in the AI industry working with dairy farmers providing knowledge and customer service. As a Patient Care Coordinator here at Trout Creek Veterinary Center LLC, I get to answer our wonderful client’s phone calls and welcome them as they enter the doors.

At home, I have an amazing husband, Warren, and two wonderful children, Madison and Mason. Outside of work we can be found at dance events, musicals, and band performances for our daughter and football, wrestling, and soccer for our son. If we aren’t watching our children, we are probably somewhere supporting the Pulaski Red Raiders! In the summer my family can be found working with our show cattle and pigs for the Shawano County Fair.My four-legged family consists of two cats, Smokey and Lilly and our dog, Check, who is a rescue. I have been told by my husband that I can’t get any more pets, so I am here to love on all of yours!

I can’t wait to meet all of you!

Shellie Bredael

Veterinary Assistant

I have been working in the veterinary field since 2011. I joined Trout Creek in November 2021 as an Assistant Technician. I absolutely love working with the doctor, clients, and their pets. It is a lifelong dream that has come true.

I breed, raise, train, and show Australian Shepherds. I believe in preserving my chosen breed and pursuing the ideal of our written AKC standard. I currently have 7 Aussies, 1 Sheltie, and 1 cat at home.

In my spare time, I teach puppy classes at Packerland Kennel Club. Helping puppies build confidence and prepare for their future is so rewarding to me. In 2005, I started doing in-home pet sitting and I very much enjoy taking care of my clients’ beloved pets.

I am married to Gary who supports all of my pets and animal-related ideas and habits. My daughter, Lexy, follows my passion for her love of animals.

I am grateful for the opportunity to work with our clients and their companions. Having their trust to care for their pets is greatly appreciated. I am very lucky to have a job that allows me to fill my life with animals.
